Purpose of Position:

Utilize a professional level of knowledge and experience in live audio systems and production to ensure every North Coast Church campus and venue can provide purposeful, well-planned, and proficiently executed services and events enabling others to experience God in a distraction-free environment.

Help recruit, train, and develop volunteers church-wide.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Oversee all audio systems and production at North Coast Church campuses, including audio for weekend sermon streams and live event streaming.

Design and install audio systems across North Coast Church, coordinating with integrators when necessary.

Serves as primary troubleshooter for audio systems across North Coast Church, including updating hardware, software & equipment firmware, diagnose and resolve audio and network issues, and oversee a general preventative maintenance plan for audio systems.

Create and present audio training programs for both staff and volunteers to expand knowledge and capabilities of the team. These should include both one-on-one and group training classes throughout the year.

Create and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of guidelines, projects, workflow processes and procedures relating to audio systems.

Ensure detailed backup plan procedures are in place and well-rehearsed enabling the team to activate backup plans quickly and effectively.

Maintain a basic level of knowledge in lighting and broadcast systems to help the team in any capacity.

Grow the team intentionally by assisting with volunteer recruitment, and provide ongoing direction, training and support to volunteers across North Coast Church campuses.

Serve as A1 in a primary adult venue on weekends.

Must be highly self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a larger team.

Experience with audio system design, rigging, and tuning.

Experience with wireless microphones, in-ear packs, distribution, and combiner units.

Boy’s Director 9/10 – Vista

Reports to: Hayden Feindel – 9/10 Pastor
Works closely with: Pastor, Students, Student Ministries Staff, and Student Ministries Volunteers

Purpose of Position:

Help support a thriving high school ministry of ninth and tenth grade students.

Disciple students through teaching, relationships, and prayer.

Be a part of the speaking team, teaching and explaining the Bible to students.

Train, recruit, and lead the Life Group Leaders within this ministry.

Provide Biblically based teaching and facilitate spiritual growth.

Create an environment of healthy community for the students.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Work with students to help them understand the Bible and help them apply it to their lives.

Regularly pray for the students, with the students, team members, and volunteers.

Write curriculum and teaching for Wednesday programs.

Jordan Pastor – Vista

Purpose of Position:

  • To develop and lead the Jordan ministry for 18-25 aged young adults, building a community of healthy staff and an adult volunteer team.

Grow a healthy mid-week ministry:

Associate Audio Director – Vista Campus

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • Provide technical support for events and services for the ministries of North Coast Church.
  • Ensure all tech equipment in the venue is being used properly, ministries are served with speed and professionalism, and tech volunteers are appreciated and welcomed.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Work with the Venue team to lead the weekend tech and worship teams in following the vision set forth by the Worship Pastor, Venue Pastor, and Campus Technical Director.
  • Create a fun and welcoming environment while keeping a high standard of production.
  • Set up and/or run sound, lighting, and video systems as applicable for weekend and event services.
  • Communicate with volunteers to ensure they are aware of and ready for all service elements.
  • Communicate with the Campus Tech Director to make sure you have all elements and timing needed to run the service.
  • Communicate using radios, Microsoft Teams, Email, and Planning Center.
  • Contact ministry leads prior to events to confirm all tech needs, event time, and tech call time.
  • Relay important information to the correct teams about equipment needs and/or repairs needed.

Audio Engineer

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Audio Engineer will run weekend technical production in various venues across North Coast Church and provide technical support for events and services for the ministries of North Coast Church at various campuses. This position will ensure that all tech equipment in the venue is being used properly, the ministries are served with speed and professionalism, and the tech volunteers they serve with are appreciated and welcomed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Work with the Venue Producer to lead the weekend tech and worship teams to follow the vision and processes the venue’s Worship Pastor, Venue Pastor, and Executive Producer have created.
  • Create a fun and welcoming environment while keeping a high standard of production.
  • Primarily run audio for weekend services
  • Set up and/or run sound, lighting, and video systems as applicable for weekend and event services.
  • Make sure the volunteers are following the worship leader and they are aware and ready of all service elements.
  • Communicate with the Producer to make sure you have all elements and timing needed to run the service.
  • Communicate using radios, Microsoft Teams, Email, and Planning Center.
  • Contact ministry leads prior to events to confirm all tech needs, event time, and tech call time.

Campus Tech Director – Carlsbad Campus

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • Ensure the campus and its venues are prepared and properly covered for weekend services, events, and midweek services.
  • Oversee that all tech equipment across the campus is functioning at optimal levels and is being used properly.
  • Communicate and lead teams of staff and volunteers in the booth and on stage and ensure the volunteers are appreciated.
  • Help ensure the successful production of the campus weekend services, midweek ministry needs, and special events.
  • Learn and practice building great communication and relationships between the ministries and the Tech Team.
  • Help recruit, train, and develop volunteers and other staff.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Support and care for the tech staff and volunteers.
    Maintain communication and relationships with campus pastors and ministries.
  • Ensure campus ministries receive a high level of service from the tech staff.
  • Meet with venue producers, worship directors, and pastors to create a clear and precise vision of the attendee experience. This includes audio mix examples, decibel levels, lighting expectations, and service flow for each venue.
  • Effectively lead the tech staff and volunteers in the venue each weekend by creating a fun and welcoming environment while keeping a high standard of production.
  • Keep the worship and tech teams on time and knowledgeable of all service elements and relevant information.
  • Run sound, lighting, and video in the booth as needed.
    Be a primary tech contact on weekends, responding to radio calls, and provide troubleshooting assistance as needed.
  • Communicate using 2-way radios and Microsoft Teams throughout the weekend for essential information.
  • Create processes that can be carried out to keep weekend services consistent week to week.
  • Troubleshoot any problems or issues during the week that come up during the weekend. Bring in support staff if needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is being used properly, installed correctly, and fixed in a timely manner.
  • Know the AVL signal chain and cable runs in the venues to help diagnose problems that arise.
  • Work closely with the AVL Directors for equipment installations in the venue.
  • Manage the AVL systems across the campus, ensure all classrooms are functional and ready, troubleshoot and correct minor issues, and coordinate with the AVL Directors for larger repairs and projects.
  • Grow the team intentionally by assisting with volunteer recruitment, and provide ongoing direction, training, and support to volunteers across North Coast campuses.
  • Maintain a robust volunteer appreciation program, and train staff on how to create a warm and inviting experience with volunteers.
  • Work within the tech ticketing system to ensure prompt service and correction of issues at the campus.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge, continued growth, education, and skill development in audio lighting, and broadcast systems.
  • Provide AVL tech support for global events and services when needed.

The Childcare Ministry offers childcare for parents attending mid-week Bible studies or classes. Each campus has regular events on various mornings and evenings, as well as other occasional events.

Facility Crew Associate (Rancho Bernardo Campus)

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • To assist the RB Facility Crew in setting up BHMS into a church setting before services and returning it to school use after North Coast services are complete.
  • To get the school ready for church.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Arrive on time – call time will be Sundays at 7:00am (time subject to change). As we get more efficient, the call time will most likely flex to a later time.
  • Unload North Coast Church contents out of the storage containers and set up children’s classrooms, multi-Purpose Room, and outdoor furniture according to schematics.
  • Ensure grounds are clear of debris and are pleasant for our guests.
  • Tear down all church gear after services and load contents back into storage containers.

Tech Producer

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • Provide technical support for events and services for the ministries of North Coast Church at various campuses.
  • Ensure all tech equipment in the venue is being used properly, ministries are served with speed and professionalism, and tech volunteers are welcomed and appreciated.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Set up and run sound, lighting, and video systems as applicable for weekend services and events.
  • Work with the Venue team to lead the weekend tech and worship teams in following the vision and processes the venue’s Worship Pastor, Venue Pastor, and Executive Producer have created.
  • Create a fun and welcoming environment while keeping a high standard of production. 
  • Communicate with volunteers to ensure they are following the worship leader, and they are aware and ready for all service elements.
  • Communicate with the Producer to make sure you have all elements and timing needed to run the service.
  • Communicate using radios, Microsoft Teams, Email, and Planning Center as applicable.
  • Contact ministry leads prior to events to confirm all tech needs, event time, and tech call time.
  • Relay important information to the correct people of equipment needs and/or repairs needed.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of, and continued growth, education, and skill development in audio, lighting, and broadcast systems.
  • Provide AVL tech support for global events and services when needed.
  • May be scheduled to help with non-technical departmental objectives.
  • Attend all Tech Team, Campus, and Organization gatherings, meetings, trainings, etc.
  • Perform any other duties needed to help achieve team objectives.
  • Represent Jesus, North Coast Church, and the Tech team well.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL:

  • A typical schedule will require weekend, evening, and weekday hours. Extended hours may be required for holidays (Christmas, Easter, Good Friday), special events, and projects.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally commute to and from other campuses as needed.

Tech Administrative Coordinator

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Tech Team Admin will be highly relational and be the face of tech to all incoming and existing tech team volunteers and will have three main duties: volunteer coordinating, weekend service scheduling, and administrative duties.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Manage administrative tasks and assist the Tech Director with other duties as assigned, such as data entry and invoicing.
  • Maintain Team calendars and SharePoint site.
  • Organize and host Tech Team training or appreciation events.
  • Organize purchasing of equipment, supplies, and subscriptions.
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets and direct the email to the team members that need to respond.
  • Contact potential volunteers to interview and understand their skill level.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new staff and volunteers and the execution of the 5-part safety system.
  • Communicate directly with Tech Team volunteers across all North Coast Church’s campuses to keep them connected and up to date with tech ministry news or information.
  • Responsible for scheduling staff or volunteers for all weekend positions at every campus.
  • Communicating with Campus Tech Directors to follow up on volunteers and to continually check in that all positions are being covered well.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position allows for remote work but mandates physical presence for meetings, trainings, and other events.
  • Be available to alter the schedule due to last minute coverage declines on Friday afternoon, Saturday mid-morning, afternoon, and Sunday morning.
