Grade level promotions are happening June 8-9!
If you have a student promoting into a new ministry this June, Vista’s student teams are so excited to meet your student and family!
Over the past year, there have been quite a few updates on the student ministry teams at the Vista Campus. If you haven’t met them already, we invite you to take a moment and learn more about the Vista campus student ministry pastors.
Erin Dougan
Tower 6 Pastor
(6th Grade)
Favorite part about Tower 6: The 6th graders!!!
Favorite ministry memory: “When we launched T6 on the Melrose Campus in 2000, we had no classroom. We had church in the parking lot for the entire summer, and it was BOMB!”
If stuck on the Vista Campus in a zombie apocalypse, Erin would go to: The Distribution Kitchen. It locks from the inside, has food and water, a drain, and lots of other assets.
Gordy Nixon
JH78 Pastor
(7th & 8th Grade)
Favorite part about Junior High: Junior High students are at the age where you can start to dive deeper into the Bible, but the ministry is still high energy and lots of fun! As he looks forward to this next year, he is excited for the summer and all that JH78 has planned! Summer is his favorite season of ministry because it’s the best time for students to easily get involved and form connections for the rest of the year.
Favorite ministry memory: Getting to baptize his younger sister at Whitewater Camp.
If stuck on the Vista Campus in a zombie apocalypse, Gordy would go to: “The JH78 room because it’s the best room! Also, I could live a long time off the JH78 snack shack and take out a lot of zombies with an army of junior highers on my side!”
Hayden Feindel
NineTen Pastor
(9th & 10th Grade)
Favorite part about NineTen: “It’s a safe haven for students to truly be who they are. When they get to feel like they are accepted for who they are and they belong to community who loves them, I think it truly replicates the love that God has for us all.” Going into this next year, Hayden is excited to see the ministry become more like family, saying “It’s always great to see kids come to church, but it’s AMAZING when kids participate in church.”
Favorite ministry memory: When 4 of his former high school students were voted onto their homecoming court, and during their homecoming pep rally, these students got to share their testimony about how God has changed their life through church, camp, mentors, and families at North Coast.
If stuck on the Vista Campus in a zombie apocalypse, Hayden would go to: The Coffee House and probably enjoy one last Americano and bagel with cream cheese.
Anthony Barrozo
ElevenTwelve Pastor
(11th & 12th Grade)
Has worked at North Coast Church: For 5 years at the Ramona Campus and is excited to be joining the Vista Campus as the ElevenTwelve Pastor this June!
Favorite ministry memory: “When my team and I had been planning summer camp for months and the camp location caught on fire 5 days before we were going to leave. We had to plan a summer camp in 4 days. All of our students were flexible, my team worked so hard, and God moved in amazing ways! We baptized 15 of our students that camp— it was so amazing.”
If stuck on the Vista Campus in a zombie apocalypse, Anthony would go to: Look for cool secret places to go, because he’s newer to Vista Campus and doesn’t know those yet.
Travis Sybert
Vista Campus Family Pastor
In 2023, Travis Sybert, who served as Vista Campus’ Junior High Pastor for 26 years, became the Vista Campus Family Pastor. In his new role, Travis works closely with all ministries birth through young adults at the Vista Campus, leading and supporting the pastors of those children’s and student ministries.
